Charley Crockett
Charley Crockett
Charley Crockett, a true descendant of Davy Crockett, was born in a poor town in deep South Texas. His early years were spent between Texas and Louisiana, raised by a blues singing single mother in Dallas, and an uncle who introduced him to the big brass sound of the French Quarter in New Orleans where he would later learn how to play guitar as a street performer. In 2009, Crockett showed up in New York City, where he made a living captivating subway car audiences for several years before being discovered and offered a record deal as part of the street group "Trainrobbers." Deciding to take his chances in a rapidly changing music industry, Charley declined the offer and headed west to California instead. Of mixed Jewish/White/Creole dissent, he has a unique sound blending a rich and diverse heritage of both new and traditional music. Crockett has been compared to many artists from Bill Withers and Jerry Lee Lewis to Dr. John and Citizen Cope. Elusive, rebellious and self taught, Crockett is a true street made original from earlier times.
The Tontons
The Tontons
When you have Texas rap legend Bun B as one of your biggest fans, you know you're doing something right. So spotting Bun at one of Houston indie-rock band the Tontons' shows—a not so uncommon occurrence—should be the first signal that you are about to experience something very special. "Its always a pleasant surprise to see Bun at our shows," says Tontons bassist Tom Nguyen. "He's told us that he's a fan our new EP Golden, which is pretty awesome to hear from such a legend in the business."

Since 2008, the Tontons have been garnering a reputation in Texas for their genre-mixing sound. Comprised of members who vary in musical taste "from jazz to doom metal to psychedelic rock to top-40 pop," the band has perfected a recipe of strong vocal wails and raw jazz and blues-driven indie rock. It's almost become laughable how much people struggle to categorize the band's sound, leaving the members curious to hear what fans and critics think. "It's a favorite past time to read reviews and see how real music critics classify our sound," Nguyen says. "We sorta just let people tell us what they think we sound like."

But even the band itself can't come up with a good comparison. "We get asked this a lot and still haven't come up with a good answer," Nguyen says. "Otherwise, our answers consist of, 'It's like this, but not like that, but sort of like this
Somebody's Darling
Somebody's Darling
"Equal bits Gary Clark Jr. and ZZ Ward, their track "Generator" whose delightful Tame Impala's "Elephant"-esque intro gives the track a propulsive spurt right out of the gates...it's off their upcoming LP, Adult Roommates, and we're ready to hear more." - Baebel Music

"Somebody's Darling have all the elements you would expect from a Southern rock band: Lead singer Amber Farris' commanding vocals, dominant guitars, powerful drums, and lyrics that make you pay attention." -CULTURE COLLiDE

Dallas' Somebody's Darling is an inventive rock band that's played relentlessly over the last five years, gaining a strong reputation for their frenetic performances and energetic live shows. Somebody's Darling is spearheaded by lead vocalist Amber Farris, whose unrefined yet tender vocals belt out blistering songs that command the attention of anyone in earshot. She's often likened to great singers such as Bonnie Raitt, Susan Tedeschi and Erika Wennerstrom (of Heartless Bastards).
Atlantis Aquarius
Atlantis Aquarius
Atlantis Aquarius features Jordan Cain and Scott Lee of Rise and Shine, Daniel Creamer and Ryan Ake of The Texas Gentlemen, Alexis Sanchez of The Van Sanchez, and Taylor Lumby of The Affections.
Grady Spencer
Grady Spencer
Grady Spencer and the Work is a blue collar band, making blue collar music, for a blue collar world.

The Work is a band formed and based out of the great city of Fort Worth, Texas. Songwriter Grady Spencer met and befriended guitarist Trevor Powell and drummer Blake Sager on the stage of Paradox Church, under the marble angels of Bass Hall. After an absence of a steady bassist developed into an issue, Grady took to the dank underbelly of the Craigslist musician forums. It was there he found seasoned veteran Steve Moore lurking in the shadows, vintage bass in hand.

Grady Spencer and the Work meld together the grit of the old-time blues with the blood-red soil of classic country to forge a well-worn hammer of modern music. Their high energy shows keep people thirsty, rowdy, and always ready for more. The Work, from time to time, can be found riding around in what has been deemed "Jean-Claude Van Dam", an iconic and stately Econovan, to criss and cross all over the Southern United States. Their shows have been described as "unmissable" by more than one late night drinker...and they always know everything about everything

Club Wood
Club Wood
Club Wood is a unique blend of Rhythm and Blues, Jazz and Rock and Roll. The group formed around a shared love of New Orleans RnB music and street parade culture. The band presents a unique twist on that music combined with a wild and chaotic stage show.

They're first year was spent playing every other Saturday night at the Arcade Bar, a small off-shoot of the Lakewood Theater. The Theater was home to “Viva Dallas Burlesque” at the time. So it wasn't at all odd for the Burlesque performs to join Club Wood in a song or dance and likewise with the band backing up the performers at the Theater. Above the Arcade Bar was the Balcony Club. A Dallas club, then known for jazz from a rotating cast of great horn players. Quite a few of those horns ended up sitting in with and joining the Club Wood Horns.

A core rhythm section made up of Mike Wood on kit, Kinley Wolfe on bass and Rip Leads on piano, have been the core of Club Wood for over 5 years. The Club Wood Horns are lead by tenor sax player Jacob “the Judge” and made up of Jeffro Boney on trombone and harmonica, Brad “Gumbo” Taylor trumpet and Kim Corbet on bone and percussion. Club Wood is lead by singer and guitarist Johnny Tone. A veteran of the Dallas, New York and Los Angeles nightclub music scene.

Club Wood never fails to provide a presentation. The right prescription to put the feelin’ in your night.
