Local Honey's 10th Annual Holiday Mix
Local Honey's 10th Annual Holiday Mix
For the 10th year, East-Dallas based virtuoso and lead-vocalist Kelly Brown tunes her creative ringmaster talents to serve up a wildly eclectic night of holiday music. Brown brings together a Mix of Dallas’ all-star musicians to perform original holiday arrangements in a set that includes everything from big-band swing and bluegrass to alt-pop and rocked up classical pieces.

A party on and off the stage, audience members have made the,
"Holiday Mix," a Christmas tradition. While the annual show took a 1-year hiatus for the neighborhood to “mourn the loss,” of its original home at the Lakewood Theatre it is time to resurrect the show with new life at The Granada on Greenville Avenue. “The show has always been a holiday celebration for me with and for family, friends and our neighborhood,” said Brown, “it’s a unique, holiday energy when all these musicians make the time to collaborate their wide-range of musical talents for a community celebration and we are grateful we have another equally historic venue to now call home to our show.” Brown hopes her loyal audience is as anxious to see the show return to stage all ready to dance and sing along!

Expect to see favorites like Freddie Jones, Kenny Withrow, Reggie Rueffer, Mack Price along with guest appearances
Kelly Brown
Local Honey is the solo and ever-expanding, contracting band of vocalist Kelly Brown, former lead vocalist for the band franklyScarlet. Frustrated with the music business and domination of corporate radio, Kelly draws inspiration from her own experiences and has created a modern variety show - dedicated to cross-pollinating the works of independent artists and creating buzz.

A visual artist, writer, and musician, Kelly follows her instinct to marry image and sound in an effort to create a new vehicle for her music. The result is Local Honey, an art and entertainment entity that is both a website gallery and a musical group that performs multi-media shows. As the curator and producer of such shows it is the intention of Kelly to create alternative shows and venues that do not impose the boundaries and restrictions often placed on artists by labels, galleries, publishers, and other corporate entities.

Kelly has won awards from Billboard and Musician magazines, and has been honored with guest invitations to the Kerrville Folk Festival and Telluride New Folk Festival. She can be heard as the voice on CNN and various television and radio commercials. She has performed with Bonnie Raitt and Sarah McLachlan and has opened for David Bowie, Joan Osborne, Lisa Loeb, Earth, Wind and Fire and others. Her music has been played on NBC's Dateline as well as the soundtracks for various independent films.
