Edie Brickell and New Bohemians bring their eclectic and varied range of musical sounds to the Granada Theater stage on Oct. 11. Watch as they debut their latest album, “Rocket” which bounces effortlessly between genres like reggae and disco. The musical diversity of this unclassifiable band cements their place in the good graces of the alternative genre. If you are fan of the multi-genre experience, this is a show you won’t want to miss.
Edie Brickell and New Bohemians exploded out of Dallas nearly thirty years ago. The band got their start out of the Denton, Tx club scene, where they were noticed by Geffen Records. Their debut album, Shooting Rubberbands at the Stars, went double platinum and set them on the path towards musical success. Staying true to their roots, these Dallas-natives return to a stage in their hometown, after almost a 12 year hiatus, at the historic Lower Greenville venue.
But wait till you hear about the front-woman, Edie Brickell. A musical prowess in her own right, Brickell, was nominated for a Grammy in 2015 for Best Musical Theater Album. Her work with Steve Martin in the popular Broadway Musical, Bright Star, sealed her status as a great songwriter. Americansongwriter.com calls her voice and the band’s sound “a breath of fresh air”. Brickell’s lyrics contain underlying meanings that speak about relatable real-life experiences. Not only will we be jamming to those eclectic feels at Granada, we’ll be nodding hardcore to some great lyricism.
Join us at Granada Theater on Oct.11 to support the comeback of this multi-genre band that has its roots right here in Dallas. Tickets available here: https://prekindle.com/promo/id/25679195308065054
