Every once in a while (or sometimes quite often) we stumble upon a band that we fall in love with, and we are LOVIN’ New Orleans band Motel Radio. We love their style so much that we’ve already booked them to play Sundown at Granada twice this year! Formed in 2014, Motel radio has created a unique indie sound that is rooted in Americana, and who doesn’t love a mash-up of totally different sounds?
Texas natives Ian Wellman and Winston Triolo started their collaboration while attending college in Baton Rouge, Louisiana where they would meet fellow musicians Eric Lloyd (drums) and Andrew Pancamo (bass), and they’ve been rockin’ ever since.
Since starting things up, the band has moved to New Orleans. They’ve opened for national acts such as Kristin Diable, Drive-By Truckers, and Kurt Vile, and have performed at festivals such as SXSW and Firefly. Their sound can be beachy, at times, and will teeter into the realm of southern rock and folk.
Catch Motel Radio LIVE next Wednesday 11/15 when they take the Sundown at Granada stage with The High Divers. Tickets available here! → http://bit.ly/2wwq3bq
