Mosquitoes, humidity, sunburns, and rising gas prices…oh did I also mention floods? I think it just might be summer time in North Texas! We’ve got your covered, literally here inside the Granada Theater this summer! Where do I even begin with what we have lined up this summer? Well, here’s a few events this summer that I look forward to!

Award winning Texas blog Gorilla vs. Bear presents : Jamie XX, Lower Dens, Tei Shi, Yumi Zouma, and Prince Innocence on July 31st. If you’re not familiar with these bands, do yourself a favor and check them out now! This will be  special night of indie/electronic bands that individually have something great to offer in their music. Personally, I look forward to Tei Shi for her captivating shoegaze/electronic sound that shimmers in her latest EP “Verde”. Check out the video below of her single “Bassically”. Get  your tickets here!

Granada Theater is pleased to announce the return of our Summer Mockbuster Series this summer! This summer we will be revisiting some of our favorite cheesy movies from the 90’s featuring: Batman & Robin, Twister, and for all of your Nick Cage fanatics Face Off! All of our Mockbuster series nights will be $3 and are 21 and over. If you’re a Mystery Science Theater 3000 fan like me, this is your chance to riff on cheesy movies at live at the Granada Theater. Check out our calender here to purchase your tickets!

Last but not least! I am very excited to for a good friend and local musician: Jessie Frye to open up for Flyleaf at The Granada Theater on July 8th! I met Jessie Frye 4 years ago when we were working at Target together during the holidays. We would hide from our managers to talk about music and how much our jobs sucked. As time went on I personally got to see how much this talented and beautiful person grow musically. From playing small venue shows in Denton to playing giant musical festivals opening for Beck. Check out her latest music video for “Shape of a Boy” from her latest album “Obsidian”. Purchase your ticket here before they’re gone!

Well that’s it for now, folks! Check out our calender for more exciting summer events and movies for all your entertainment needs. Cheers!
