Twisters! Nicholas Cage! Bat Nipples!  Your favorite cheesy 90’s movies are back for The Granada Theater’s Mockbuster series! We have teamed up withe The Dallas Observer for several nights of movies,  comedy, and more for your guilty pleasures of film! Plus, we will be featuring local Dallas comedians and a Twitter feed screen to tweet mocks and comments during the movies!

We will be kicking off our Mockbuster series with Batman & Robin(1997) on June 6th. A film that left us cold with ice puns and rubber bat nipples, even director Joel Schumacher made an effort to apologize to disgruntled fans about the outcome of Batman & Robin. Our favorite critic comment off Rotten Tomatoes comes from Matt Brunson who wrote: “I’ve seen colonic X-rays more visually appealing than what Schumacher throws up on the screen.”

Are you ready for Nicholas Cage to rock your Face Off? Our second screening of our Mockbuster series is Face Off (1997) on June 27th. Here’s a fun Nicholas Cage fact!  Face Off  is the third movie in a row to have Nicholas Cage flung through the air involving an explosion during the finale of the movie. However, in this film it involves speed boats

Our last film for our Mockbuster series will be the 90’s classic Twister (1996) July 17th. A disaster movie that became..well, quite the disaster in that genre of movies. From Rotten Tomatoes website, Richard Shickel of Time Magazine writes: “You know a movie is in trouble when a cow provides its only moment of authentic human interest.”
