Ejecta is the moniker a character vocalist Leannae Macomber describes as “one that conceptually represents her various inner-struggles, and yet also as a way to “deflect” them.” The band comprises of Leanne Macomber and Joel Ford, recognizable from other groups such as Neon Indian, Fite Bite, and Ford & Lopatin.
The duo produce music that abides by the imagery of Ejecta: synthpop that is dark, emotional, dreamlike. The two aspire to make the character of Ejecta as someone who is timeless, a figure “displaced in time.” You’ll hear this timelessness present when listening to Ejecta – songs depicting human feelings about “love, loss, and struggles in early adulthood.” There’s a certain yearning in Ejecta’s songs, and she’s still trying to figure it all out.
Ejecta will be performing at Gorilla vs. Bear IV with Panda Bear, Sophie, Doss, & Blues Control on September 12th. Tickets can be purchased here.
