I first heard PVC Street Gang back in ’09 opening for Black Tie Dynasty. I was blown away with their energy. I’ve been a fan ever since. They’ve got a high energy surfey/post-punk sound which I love. ┬áThese guys are one of my handful of favorite local acts.

Formed in Denton in 2006 by Chris McGaha and Jeff Moore. Chris Vivion joined in 07 with the departure of Jeff Moore. Many, many drummers later, Andrew Barner joined the group. They have played in various lineups, but are currently a three piece. PVC Street Gang is a high energy band with rock, post-punk, and R&B influences.

They’ve got one album, and one EP, both amazing; and a quick scroll through their facebook page shows some blurry console photos, leading me to believe they’ve been working on a new album. If the 2 track EP “So So Party” is any indicator of direction, the new record will be simply stunning.

When we booked The Black Lips earlier this year, and saw there was a slot for a local opener, I crossed all my fingers and toes that PVC would be on the bill, and my dreams came true.
