Leanne Macomber of Neon Indian, which originated in Denton, TX, and Joel Ford of Ford & Lopatin united as Ejecta. They released their debut album, Dominae, in 2013. Macomber’s voice sounds like a beautiful, melodic whisper carrying wistful lyrics harmoniously with Lopatin’s twilight, sci-fi, whimsical production. The combination flows organically through the entire album. You will sink into Ejecta’s performance wondering how far away your feet are from the ground.
“Macomber’s explanation of the album art – a silhouette of a nude woman laying on her side, stark against a black background – that juxtaposition of imagery and music is a perfect fit.” (Alex Erikson, Interview Magazine)
