Fort Worth-based Quaker City Night Hawks have built quite a reputation through the years. The southern rock outfit have been featured on Sons of Anarchy, gaining local and national prominence, all with a genuine air of southern comfort. In anticipation of their upcoming show at the Theater, we wanted to share some raves and rants about QCNH from some local faces.
“It’s easy to see why they have such a devout following — their rock-infused country music gets fans out of their seats, beers in the air. QCNH’s lyrics aren’t whiny enough to be country, and their rough-around-the-edges rock persona entices you stick around to see if they can live up to the guise. In concert, they are the real deal.” – Brenna Rushing, Pegasus News
“Another Fort Worth band riding high on a new album, this hirsute foursome is gearing up for a full slate of shows in support of the just-released (and fantastically gritty) Honcho. The Hawks have built a reputation as one of the area’s sharpest live acts, so if you haven’t seen ’em before now, consider this an open invitation.” – Preston Jones, Fort Worth Star-Telegram
“Quaker City is Southern blues-based rock at its best, with a bit of country thrown in. All these guys are world-class musicians and represent the very best of the Funkytown music scene.” – Steve Watkins, DFW.com
Quaker City Night Hawks will be opening for Booker T on April 5th. We never tire from seeing these guys live and are thrilled to welcome them back once more to take the show away.
